The first thing that the merchant needs to do is to enable the broken link Plugin.

1. Enabling the Broken Link Feature

  • To enable the feature, merchants need to log into the Webrex SEO Optimizer App, select 'Broken Link' on the left-hand menu, and click the 'Enable broken link' button.

  1. Once the broken link feature is Enabled then all your broken links will be registered under the Unresolved section.

    1. Now Under the Unresolved broken link tab merchant will be able to find to set of action buttons which as Submit - Which is used to redirect the broken link to the correct path.
Archive - is used in cases where the merchant wants to temporarily hide the URL.

    2. In case a merchant wants to edit the broken link and wants to redirect to the correct path then the merchant needs to click on the submit button.

      1. Now Comes Archive, so Merchants can use this action to hide the broken link temporarily.

So let's take an example I have a product in my store that is - https://seoannouncement-test.myshopify.com/products/arctic-fox-wired-usb-gaming-mouse-with-breathing-lights-and-dpi-upto-3600-wired-optical-gaming-mouse-usb-3-0-blue-black

I have made this product unpublished because the product is not available in my stock for now and I will be publishing it once I have the product availability. So in this scenario, the unpublished product link is available on various other platforms like Facebook ads will show a 404 error to the user. In such a scenario, the best action is to archive the product link. If I submit it or redirect it to the correct path say collection or home then that will permanently re-directing the product link to either collection or home page depending upon what path I have given.

So To archive any link just Click on the archive button and then click on Archived redirection.

Now In case anytime merchant wants he needs to re-direct it so the merchant can move to the Archived broken Link section and revert it to unresolved.

once you do so then the link will be moved to unresolved and now a merchant can follow step 4 to redirect it to the correct path.
