Broken Links : Automation
This will give an Idea to merchants of how they can make a one-time setup and then every time any broken link is identified and registered that will get automatically fixed or solved
Using Automation for managing broken links is one of the best ways. This needs a time set up and then every time any link is broken or shows a 404 error on the storefront that will get identified and will be solved automatically as per the one-time setting done by the merchants.
For this follow the Instructions given below :
Click on the Broken link tab on the left menu.
Click on the "Automaton" tab.
enable the toggle for automatic fixing.
Now configure the setting shown in the settings module.
a. Default redirect - redirect the link to your home page. Just use "/ " to represent a homepage.
Note :1. While redirecting merchants need not have to write the entire domain just start with / followed by collection, product, pages, etc.
2. If you want to redirect to home just " /"
b. Collection redirect - redirect the broken link to collection use /collection.
c. Product redirect - redirect the broken link to Product use /products. Note if you have a collection handle in the product URL for example: Collection/Shorts/products/green military color -shorts.
then the merchant needs to mark the check box for Use collection handle if part of the product has broken links.
d. Blog category redirect - redirect the broken link to blog use/blogs.
e. Blog redirect with blog handle - merchant needs to mark the check box for use Use blog handle if part of article broken links
example - /blogs/news/blog_titlef. Page redirect - use /pages.
Hit Save.
Note :
The Automation feature is accessible on the Premium Plan only.
